Quarter Auction 2015

GYA QA InvitationThe Quarter Auction fundraiser is two-fold: to raise awareness about GYA’s existence and services and to begin to fundraise for a youth café and GYA’s new programs (including, but not limited to, GYA Works and Romance Academy). The café will be a youth-only afterschool venue providing a safe place for teens to hang out, connect with services and access jobs skills.

We are looking for community support in a number of ways – community participation through attendance, local businesses and organizations to provide donations and serve as onsite vendors during the auction and other businesses to provide donations for the auction to facilitate raising funds.

Participants:

The event will be held from 6pm-8:30pm of Friday, October, 16, 2015 at the TCC Portsmouth Student Activities Center, 120 Campus Drive.

There is an entry fee of $1 per person (which gives you a numbered paddle to use for the evening’s auction – you can purchase additional paddles for $1 each to increase your chances to bid and win if interested).

Bring a roll (or two) of quarters with you to bid on items in the auction. All items will be available for bids of 25¢ – $1.00 depending on the retail value of the item being auctioned. (e.g. an item that is $75 in value will be a 75¢ bid, although bid amounts are set at the discretion of GYA based on value and interest at the event)

If you bid on an item and your paddle number is drawn you win that item! It’s as easy as that. It’s a very fun night and a great way to get information and access to services and businesses in the local area.

Vendors:

We would like to have 20 vendors at the event with tables set up about their services and/or products.  You can sell your items onsite as well if interested/approved.  The vendor fee for a table space is $20.  Vendors are also expected to donate an item for the auction that is at least a $25 retail value- although the more the donation is worth the better- as the funds raised for GYA will then be higher.

What’s in it for you?

  • You get two free entry paddles for bidding- one for you and one for a friend!
  • Besides access to all the participants at the event and the opportunity to demonstrate your product and services and sell at the event
  • You will be listed on our website as a vendor with a link to your website
  • Your information will provided on a take-away sheet to all participants
  • You will have a short intro about your product and business during the auction of your item.

Donations Only:

We would like to have as many donations to auction off at the event as possible.  The donation for the auction needs to be at least a $25 retail value- although the more the donation is worth the better- as the funds raised for GYA will then be higher.
